| Marketing Disaster – when the media hype fizzles
Kathleen Johnson 9/10/06Katrina, at her height, was the darling of the networks. It was a media frenzy fed by inflammatory bigoted images from white dome of the coliseum in New Orleans, the debris filled streets of southern Mississippi, inflated death counts, political shame, blame and political hop scotch, and hundreds of personal “me too” stories meant to heighten the feeding frenzy for more, more, more and more. The nation was glued to the TV screen unable to get enough of the images. Click here for full story |

New benchmark at ground zero
Kathleen Johnson, Waveland, Ms. 7/2/06 Katrina cut a swath thru the tall pines in an area the size of England across the Gulf Coast leaving a tangled bounty of timber which has, for the most part, up to this point, been hauled off to be dumped and left to slowly rot in land fills all over the Gulf Coast.
